52Sid Meier's Civilization IV
Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: War of Two Cities is very
well-done. This is one of the Android games retains the theme and feel of the PC games but
with gameplay that is very much different. The PC titles are a popular series
of turn-based strategy games. You build units, advance technologies, and
basically try to dominate your opponents with units ranging from axemen to
stealth bombers.
In this Android OS version, you still build units and advance technologies, but
the difference is that the battleground is a 2d arena with 1 opponent occupying
each side. Basically you build different kinds of units to advance your front
line towards the enemies base. The game is won when you take over the other
base. You can go through the ages towards more advanced units. You choose new
technologies in between rounds to better compete in the next level.
The game has elements of Scorched Earth where you fire turrets back and forth
to take out your opponent's units/resources. It's an added consideration when
deciding what unit to build next. A well-placed cannon shot can be a deciding
factor even when your units are losing the battle.
The game format is well-suited for a handheld device. Both for its ease of
control and also the shortened game time. A typical PC Civilization game can
last hours and even days. By contrast, this mobile version will last about 10
minutes. A lot more convenient for when you're passing time waiting on the
train or for your significant other to get out of the shoe store!
All things considered, MForma Europe's mobile version of Sid Meier's
Civilization IV: War Of Two Cities is a one of the Android apps which is a worthy addition to any gamer's
collection.
